About NSN Explorer
NSN Explorer is an independent project built for suppliers who want to find and win federal parts work — it indexes public U.S. government procurement records — DIBBS solicitations and awards, and USAspending contract data — into one searchable site.
We built it because that data exists but is scattered across systems built for procurement officers, not for the businesses that could fill the orders. NSN Explorer renders the same public facts clearly: what's open now, per part, over time, with a link back to the source record behind every figure — so a supplier can find work and quote it with confidence. The same index also serves buyers sizing up a category, researchers and market-watchers tracking federal demand, investors watching a sector, and journalists checking a number.
We are not a government entity and we don't sell parts to the government ourselves on this site, and we don't broker or submit bids on anyone's behalf. Every figure here links to the public record it came from. Nothing on this site is estimated or modeled — if you find an error, tell us and we'll fix it.
Optional accounts sign in through WorkOS. Watchlists and saved searches are stored with our database provider; see the privacy policy for what an account keeps.
NSNExplorerBot. For the supplier pages we read a few public pages of each company's own website
(the home page and, where they exist, its about, capabilities, quality and contact pages) so a supplier's page can say what the
company says it makes and how to reach it. The crawler identifies itself as
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; NSNExplorerBot/1.0; +https://nsnexplorer.com/about/#crawler) (or, if a site refuses that
once, NSNExplorerBot/1.0 (+https://nsnexplorer.com/about/#crawler)), fetches and obeys the site's
robots.txt, reads at most four pages per site, waits at least two seconds between requests to one site, and
revisits a site about twice a year. If you run a website and do not want it read, disallow NSNExplorerBot in
robots.txt or email us. Suppliers can also ask us to hide their contact
details or website summary; see Supplier information in the privacy policy.
